When they’re not on the slopes, the EVERGREEN WEST owners enjoy Copper Mountain’s wide choice of après-ski food and drink, from the best spot for good wines to the nightclub with the edgiest crowd. Here’s a quick, personal guide to wining and dining in Colorado High Country. It is by no means comprehensive – we’re playing favorites here -- but with so many choices, this list is a mere tip of the iceberg.
Endo’s Adrenaline Café – Perfect burgers and great draft beer is all you want sometimes and Endo’s stays up late to serve-it-up in a young, fun atmosphere.
Columbine Café – You’ll wish you had a breakfast café this good at home!
Salsa Mountain Cantina – Authentic southwestern cooking. The grilled mahi-mahi fish tacos are a knock-out. So almost everything else.
JJ’s – Gourmet all-American grill with a huge bar, just off the golf course.
Frisco, Colorado, is too close to overlook and a treasure once you get there. Take the free Summit Stage for a fifteen minute ride.
Samplings – Outstanding “tapas” style portions of American, European and fusion cuisine, served with “flights” of different wines so one samples their way into a perfect and leisurely evening of wining and dining is its truest, most-literal sense. Visit here before it gets too famous.
The Boatyard – The locals’ “secret” spot for great seafood, sandwiches and creative salads. Huge portions, reasonable prices, worth the wait in high season.
Blue Spruce Inn – In the mood for traditional Continental cuisine with a western accent? How about a log cabin interior and service staff that’s been there since 1990 and really knows the menu? The Spruce has been a white table cloth restaurant since 1948. It transcends trendy.
Farley’s -- For steaks and chops in the manner of an English pub, Farley’s has a substantial local following.
